Revamping this machine was a joint effort by Marshall & his father, Edmund. The reel strip symbols (used by Mills in the 1930s) were all animals When three of the same symbol lined up the bear would stand up and growl. |
Brother Frank and Marshall had a Nevada State license to operate slots in the Liberty Belle Saloon for over 47 years. The latter serviced and revamped many slots until computer technology.took over in 1980. |
Built in 1976, the front open case was made by Baldechi, the mech was Pace the and hopper was Jennings. When the jackpot was hit a tape player would loudly announce to the player that "Happy Days Are Here Again." |
The linkage and mechs were salvaged from a Pace TWIN ROYAL COMET, purchased for $150. The machine at the right was operated at the Liberty Belle until 1968, the year Mills built a replica. To operate the machines the player inserted a nickel in each slot. The pays were standard on the individual machines . If the player lined up 6 cherries, oranges, plums, bells, bars, wagons and cowboys on the payline of both slots they could win up to $500. |
