The Liberty Belle Saloon & Restaurant, opened in 1958 by the Fey Brothers , was named for their Granddpa's famous original slot machine. The enterprise was opened as a bar embellished with a modest collection of antiques. These, plus numerous early slot machines and other early western items collected over the years were either in use or displayed throughout the building. The collection grew rapidly resulting in the second floor overflowing with collectibles. In 1962, the building with two lots was purchased for $117, 000 on a Contract of Sale, with a $3,000 down payment. It wasn't until two years later that the Fey Brothers obtained legal ownership. The building with an additional lot was sold to the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority in 2006. |
